Roasted to order
Nothing sits on a shelf. We roast on a gas-powered drum roaster, by hand, after you reach out, then bag it and get it to you fresh.
We stop at Full City+
After first crack, a roast can be stopped at City and taken darker through each stage. Past Full City+, coffee loses most of the characteristics that make each origin distinct, so that is where we stop.
Since switching to Anchor Bend Coffee, every other coffee has been a disappointment. The Ethiopian roast is extremely well balanced and smooth. Drop the green siren and drink locally roasted coffee that won't let you down!

I was born and raised in the Buckeye State and dropped anchor in Columbus, Ohio. My husband and I are sailors, we are adventurists, and we love coffee. When traveling, or even shopping at your local grocery store, it's not always easy to find good, quality coffee.
I grew up on Lake Erie and love to travel. I enjoy the outdoors, camping and going on adventures. I like to garden and volunteer when I'm not working my day job in marketing. I'm excited to share my passion for good, small-batch coffee with you, and thank you for your support!
JessicaWhat is your roasting process?
It starts with unroasted, green coffee beans from a coffee importer, dropped into a gas-powered drum roaster. During the drying phase the beans turn from green to a light yellow. We control the heat by hand so target temperatures are reached at the right times, and bring air into the drum to clear moisture and smoke.
The beans slowly turn brown and begin cracking as they expand and release moisture. This is first crack, the start of the development phase, and the earliest point a roast can stop (a City Roast). The longer the beans stay in, the darker the roast: City+, Full City, Full City+, French and Vienna. We only roast to Full City+, because coffee loses most of its distinguishable characteristics beyond that.
Once the roast level is reached, the coffee drops into the cooling tray. Once cool, it's bagged and ready for you.
What varieties do you offer?
Our varieties change with availability, but we aim to always have a light, a medium and a dark roast. See the Buy Coffee section for what's current. When available, our Limited Release Roast is ordered in small batches and changes often.

Anchor Bend is manually roasted to order. We specialize in fresh, quality beans roasted in very small batches. Our varieties are limited, and each is chosen and roasted to bring out the flavor of that particular bean.

A totally remodeled, cabin-feel lake house on Indian Lake, only an hour from Columbus. Relax or fish from the waterfront deck, rent kayaks to paddle around the islands, grill your catch and unwind by the fire pit. Walk to Froggy's at the Lake, Tilton Hilton and Acheson's Resort. The padded window seats are made for morning coffee, and yes, freshly roasted Anchor Bend coffee is provided.
